Is dimple creation surgery painful?

#

The procedure is virtually painless because the inner cheek is thoroughly numbed with local anesthesia prior to the first incision.

Clinical Pathology & Literature Context

Patients only feel the minor pinch of the local anesthetic needle, after which the entire cheek area becomes insensitive. During the placement of the suture, patients may sense mild pulling or pressure, but no sharp discomfort. Postoperative soreness is mild and easily managed with standard oral painkillers for 2 to 3 days.

Surgical & Post-Operative Recovery Protocol

Most patients compare the sensation to minor routine dental treatment.
