How is dimple creation surgery performed step-by-step?

#

Dimpleplasty is performed by creating a tiny mucosal trephine punch or slit inside the mouth, excising a minute core of submucosa, and placing an anchoring suture.

Clinical Pathology & Literature Context

First, the marked cheek site is infiltrated with local anesthetic. Inside the cheek, a small 3 to 4 mm incision is made through the buccinator muscle. A minuscule core of subcutaneous tissue is gently cleared, and an absorbable suture (such as 3-0 or 4-0 Vicryl) is passed through the inner surface of the cheek dermis and looped back into the muscle, creating an internal tether that draws the skin inward.

Surgical & Post-Operative Recovery Protocol

The suture is tied securely inside the mouth, and no external bandages are required. Patients rinse with antiseptic and walk out immediately.
