What is the recovery timeline following facial implant surgery?

#

Recovery is rapid: patients resume light desk employment within 5 to 7 days, with swelling resolving over 2 to 3 weeks.

Clinical Pathology & Literature Context

A supportive chin or facial compression strap is worn for the first 3 to 5 days to prevent fluid collection and secure implant positioning. Mild localized swelling and tenderness peak on days 2 and 3. Patients maintain a soft food diet and rinse with antiseptic chlorhexidine mouthwash after meals. Strenuous exercise and contact sports should be avoided for 4 weeks to protect the healing pocket.

Surgical & Post-Operative Recovery Protocol

Normal non-strenuous daily activities continue comfortably from the first week.
