Can facial implants shift out of place, and can they be easily removed or resized?

#

When properly secured beneath the deep periosteum or fixed with micro-screws, facial implants will not shift or move out of place.

Clinical Pathology & Literature Context

Surgeons dissect a subperiosteal pocket precisely measured to match the exact dimensions of the implant, preventing dead space or migration. In the unlikely event that a patient ever desires removal or size adjustment, solid silicone implants can be easily extracted in a 20-minute outpatient procedure under local anesthesia without altering the underlying bone.

Surgical & Post-Operative Recovery Protocol

Permanence is guaranteed, yet reversibility remains available if desired.
