Is earlobe repair surgery painful, and what anesthesia is used?

#

Earlobe repair is completely painless during surgery because it is performed under localized infiltration anesthesia using a very fine dental-gauge needle.

Clinical Pathology & Literature Context

The surgeon injects a tiny amount of local anesthetic containing lidocaine and adrenaline directly into the earlobe, creating immediate numbness. Patients feel only the very first momentary prick. Afterward, no pain, pulling, or cutting is felt. Post-procedure discomfort is minimal and easily managed with standard paracetamol.

Surgical & Post-Operative Recovery Protocol

No fasting or sedation is required, allowing patients to walk in and walk out comfortably.
