What is the recovery timeline following breast lift surgery?

#

Recovery progresses steadily: desk work resumes at 7 to 10 days, light cardio at 3 to 4 weeks, and full unrestricted exercise at 6 weeks.

Clinical Pathology & Literature Context

Patients wear a seamless, front-closing surgical support bra 24/7 for the first four to six weeks to minimize tension on the healing incisions. Mild bruising and swelling peak within the first 72 hours and subside significantly over two weeks. Non-strenuous daily activities and driving can be resumed once narcotic pain medications are discontinued, usually around day 5 to 7.

Surgical & Post-Operative Recovery Protocol

Sleeping on the back with the upper torso slightly elevated is recommended for the first 3 weeks to prevent tissue strain.
