What is an eyebrow lift (forehead lift / browplasty)?
#An eyebrow lift, or browplasty, is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to elevate drooping eyebrows, smooth deep forehead creases, and open up crowded upper eyelids to restore an alert, refreshed, and youthful appearance.
With advancing age and facial movement, frontalis muscle descent, galea aponeurotica laxity, and gravity cause the brow complex to sag over the supraorbital rim. This creates hooded upper eyelids and conveys an unintended tired, angry, or stern expression. A brow lift surgically releases retaining ligaments and anchors the brow tissues superiorly to the temporal and frontal periosteum.
The surgery takes 60 to 90 minutes under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, with most patients resuming professional desk work within 7 to 10 days.

How do I know whether I need a brow lift or an upper eyelid lift (blepharoplasty)?
#A simple clinical test differentiates brow ptosis from eyelid hooding: manually lift your eyebrow with a finger; if the eyelid hooding disappears, your primary issue is a drooping brow, not excess eyelid skin.
If a surgeon mistakenly performs an upper blepharoplasty on a patient with severe brow ptosis, removing eyelid skin will pull the heavy eyebrow even lower, crowding the eye further and narrowing the brow-to-lid distance. In contrast, an upper blepharoplasty alone is indicated when the eyebrow is in an ideal position (above the orbital rim) but the eyelid skin itself has stretched.
Often, combining an endoscopic brow lift with a conservative micro-blepharoplasty yields the most harmonious periorbital rejuvenation.
